Chan Chum

I build software for small businesses. Most of the time I'm rebuilding the slow, creaky systems they already run on, because the slow part is almost never the work. It's the waiting.

I learned that the hard way. I watched a colleague try to open our quoting tool one afternoon. He kept hitting hoop after hoop just to get in, and he finally said, “I can't do this anymore.” I saw his face. It stuck with me, because I realized my team had probably been living with that for years. A freight quote that should have been quick was taking us 24 to 48 hours, and the rates felt like a mystery box. Around the same time our overseas ops team was panicking because the same 16-year-old app had a database falling over on them.

So one Saturday I sat down to find out where all that time was going. I put 20 AI agents on it, each one good at something different, and pointed them at the whole quoting process with one question: where does it actually get slow? The answer surprised me. The work was never the slow part. Building a quote took about an hour. The other day and a half was waiting. Waiting on partner agents to email their rates back. Waiting for our overseas office and our US side to sync up across the time zone. And at the very end, even a finished quote sat waiting for someone to review it before the customer ever saw it.

So I rebuilt it from the database up, and a two-day quote became about an hour. It started in freight, but the waiting is everywhere I look.

A few things I've built

Quote Manager

I rebuilt a broken freight quoting platform over a single weekend, and it's still in production. Then I analyzed 34,000 past quotes and found that answering within 16 hours wins about 3x more often, so the whole team can finally see it.

Atlas

An API-first platform that turns a closed, locked-down ERP into something every other tool can plug into. It's the foundation the automations, dashboards, and AI agents all run on.

15 Power BI dashboards

Full executive financial reporting, built from scratch. Reporting work that used to take two months now takes two days, and leadership self-serves every number.

An engineering firm

A 23-person engineering firm running its KPIs out of a Microsoft Access tool. Same playbook I proved across freight, just a completely different industry, and the same result. Proof the pattern travels.

Most of these are real systems I built and still run at my full-time role. They aren't third-party testimonials, the numbers are mine to defend. Dig into the full case studies or see everything I offer.

How I work

Problem-led, not tool-led

I name the actual pain first, then choose the tool. Never the other way around. It's why I ship outcomes instead of features.

Build first

When something breaks on a Friday, I have the replacement in production by Monday. Founder reflex, not employee reflex.

Outcomes over output

Every project has a number attached, whether that's dollars saved or hours your team gets back.

Get in touch

If something in your business is broken, or quietly costing you money you can't see, let's talk. Start with a free 15-minute call. No deck, no pitch, just an honest look.

Not sure I'm a fit for your industry? Good, that's exactly what the call is for. I diagnose your actual systems live, with no paid discovery phase, and if I'm not the right person I'll tell you straight and point you elsewhere. You risk 15 minutes, not a project. And whatever I build is documented and yours to keep, so you work directly with the person who builds it, start to finish.
